The power of play, people, planting, and the planet

In the EverForest, behind every tree and banana slug are forest mysteries, secrets, merge puzzles—plus lots of heart and research, too. Researching our audience for the flagship EverForest game, we’ve been intrigued (and inspired!) by some of the things we’ve discovered.

Some of the latest gaming stats (From Playtoday.com with stats from Statista; Entertainment Software Association; GameSparks; VentureBeat) are giving us a really interesting snapshot of who our global gamers are. In fact, the number of people who play video games worldwide is 3.24 billion, almost 80% of gamers in the US are over 18, and the average age of players is around 35 years of age, with women as a fast-growing demographic. Play is increasingly important to everybody, everywhere.

And along with play is the desire to protect the planet. From the Peoples' Climate Vote | United Nations, “Even though the survey was conducted during the COVID-19 crisis, there was still widespread recognition of climate change as a global emergency in every country surveyed. Over all 50 countries, 64% of people said that climate change was an emergency – presenting a clear and convincing call for decision-makers to step up on ambition.” Of the climate policies surveyed, “conservation of forest and land” had the most public support.

We’re so thrilled to be bringing play, people, planting, and our planet together in a really fun game—and we can’t wait to share it with you.
